Musings on Art and Beauty
Art and beauty are two sides of the same coin. Art magnifies the beauty as seen by the artist and beauty is the one that provides necessary impetus to art. One cannot survive or exist without the other.
I was wondering if an artist can attempt to express him/her self without getting the impulse from within. Imagine an artist being asked to paint/sketch within a time frame and is also provided the subject for the same. What would the artist do? Go ahead without even feeling for the subject because he/she was told to attempt it? What would be the outcome? A commercial or obligatory piece of painting/sketching done to satisfy other rather than the artist's self.
Real art is only possible if an artist 'feels' the subject and gets the necessary impetus from withing and not from outside. An artist needs the space to operate, much like a poet, and cannot be set time lines as if the artist would get the required interest by taking some medicines!!!
