In a scene from GOT's Episode 6 of Season 3 titled 'The Climb', Lord Varys and Littlefinger are in the throne room throwing barbs at each other while trying to expose the other's hidden ambitions. At one point Littlefinger has Varys down and Varys retorts by saying whatever he did was for the good of the realm. For me, this scene nicely sums up the entire GOT. ----- Varys: I did what I did for the good of the realm. Littlefinger: The realm? Do you know what the realm is?
